Last Southern 455s for Scrap
On 16th August 2022 the last pair of Southern class 455 EMUs left Stewarts Lane depot to be scrapped at Sims, Newport. Units 455804 & 819 were formed up into a train on 15th August by loco 73212, using translator vehicles 64664 & 64707. They left Stewarts Lane the next day behind 69001 and were seen for the last time between Longhedge and Latchmere Junctions in Battersea, south London. These two units were the last pair to be seen out working on the main line, moving ECS from Streatham Hill to Stewarts Lane on 13th July 2022. My video of that is here: • Last Southern 455 Working
