A Brother Has Fallen
In this sermon, we look at Peter’s fall and restoration as a powerful reminder that the Christian life is a spiritual battle. Peter was sincere in his devotion to Christ, but sincerity alone was not enough to keep him from stumbling. His story warns us not to depend on our own strength, but to stand firm in the sustaining grace of Christ. As we consider Jesus’ words to Peter, we are reminded that the enemy is real, the battle is ongoing, and God has given us what we need to stand firm: His Word, the armor of God, persistent prayer, the local church, and the intercession of Christ. Even when we falter, we are not without hope. God is in the business of restoring fallen soldiers, healing wounded believers, and using our past failures to strengthen others.
