How Much Can You REALLY Record With a Cassette Portastudio? (feat. Tascam 424 mkii)
For a one-man band, track limitations are the central challenge of cassette recording. So how do you squeeze more than four tracks out of a 4-track? In my latest DAWless project, I set out to push my Tascam 424 to its limits — and ended up recording more than a dozen individual parts with minimal bouncing and almost no generation loss. It forced a frustrating — and surprisingly fun — shift in my usual workflow.
