We Skipped the Theme Parks... and Had the PERFECT Florida Day

Who says you need a theme park to have an unforgettable day in Central Florida? Join us as we spend an incredible day exploring some of the best local experiences Florida has to offer! We kick things off at De Leon Springs State Park with breakfast at the famous Old Sugar Mill Pancake House, where you cook your own pancakes right at your table. From there, we take a scenic eco boat tour through the spring run, spotting wildlife along the way before cooling off with a swim in the crystal-clear spring. After a quick stop at home, we head to DeLand for the Firecracker Festival at Earl Brown Park to celebrate Independence Day and America's 250th anniversary. The evening is packed with patriotic fun, including live music, food vendors, a pie-eating contest, an incredible National Anthem with a flyover, skydivers delivering a giant American flag, and an amazing fireworks finale. Sometimes the best adventures are the ones right in your own backyard, and this day reminded us why we love living in Central Florida. Have you visited De Leon Springs or celebrated the Fourth of July in DeLand? Let us know about your favorite local Florida traditions in the comments!
