FE8 Journey: L'Arachel, Dozla & Rennac

The moment you realize that Serra's dream is to live like L'Arachel, a noble with vassals to fulfill all her whims. Noticed how Dozla kinda looked like Hector in FE6 while Rennac is kinda like a grown-up Matthew? Hmm, maybe it's just me. -------------------- L'Arachel: The embodiment of Clarine and Serra. Some find her annoying, some find her amusing. Knowing my devotion to Saint Serra, you guys should know how I feel about L'Arachel too. Even with her higher bases (and growths) compared to other troubadours like Clarine or Priscilla, she is too frail due to her fairly late recruitment. By the time she appears, promoted enemies are already quite common, L'Arachel is easily taken down in a single hit due to her low bulk of 18HP and 5Def/8Res. Not only that, troubadours are the only unpromoted classes that got nerfed. While other unpromoted mounts keep their 7 movement, troubadours only have 6. If you were to train her, prepare to be like Dozla, you will have to babysit her until she's promoted. Despite her initial flaws, do you know that L'Arachel can CAP Mag, Spd, Luk and Res on average? Even her Skl stat is just 1 point away from capping, regardless of promotional paths. If you were to invest on her, you will get something as awesome as a fully trained Nino, you just need a decent amount of time and effort. -------------------- Dozla: The hearty berserker who always laughs it off after misunderstanding what others are trying to say, Dozla is easily one of my favourite characters. Sadly, his statline isn't looking that good, even normal mode Garret (FE6) has higher bases, while Hawkeye is on par with hard mode Garret, but with an axe rank 2 levels higher. It might be due to berserkers being quite broken in the previous games, IS decided to nerf Dozla down. His initial 9 speed isn't really helping much, he could hardly double anyone by the time you get him. Still, if you love him as much as I do, be sure to keeping using him in the creature campaign after the main story. While his base stats aren't good, his class caps are still the same. You can still make him as awesome as Hawkeye, maybe even more with the purchasable statboosters. ---------------------- Rennac: A great dancer, although not able to provide dance support like Tethys. He can pick locks while not requiring a lockpick to do so. He loves to maintain his physical image, despite the fact that he doesn't care how people think of him for his "profession". Based on his supports, you can sum up his personality as the prideful jack-of-all-trades, yet relatable master of none. Stat-wise, Rennac is very similar to Legault. Rennac's bases are slightly higher than HM Legault bases, even with immediate promotion gains upon recruitment. Their growths are near-identical, with a noticeable exception in Luk. You could say Rennac is quite the unlucky guy, especially when you know he has to deal with a certain princess. Despite having solid bases, Rennac is not exactly good in combat due to the fact that FE8 is infested with long-ranged monsters. Being sword-locked can be quite annoying, unless you have the patience of a saint. Unless you prefer using Colm or having other units holding on to lots of door/chest keys, you can never go wrong with free lockpicking services. ---------------------- List to be completed (not in any order): Duos: Seth & Franz Forde & Kyle Colm & Neimi Trios: Ross, Amelia, Ewan Gerik, Marisa & Tethys Moulder, Gilliam, Garcia Duessel, Cormag, Knoll Extra Characters: Caellach & Selena (Partners) Glen & Valter (Archenemies) Fado & Orson (Renais) Hayden & Ismaire (Alliance) Lyon & Riev (Grado)
