CASCADES DE LA VALLÉE DE L'OURIKA - MAROC
Cascades of the Ourika Valley - Morocco Duration: 03h30 We left around 08:00 in the morning to undertake our hike in the mountains to see several waterfalls that are throughout the course. We walked through the small village that was still asleep. We walked along the wadi Ourika on the edge of which we find chairs, tables and even comfortable sofas installed by the various restaurants, allowing visitors to have a meal in an enchanting setting. I had brought my mini ipad and saved the localization of the various cascades in the application maps.me in order to better situate ourselves in this environment and know the distance to travel. There may be another easier route to get there. However, I present you the journey we made to get there. Not always easy! We crossed the Oued Ourika on a small pedestrian bridge rather precarious to go to the other side. Then we climbed a series of stairs and followed a path in the forest along the wadi Ourika which was also rather dry in this area. We then waded through the wadi to return to the other shore. Some restaurants are located here. We follow the river that we will have to cross a few times. The wadi is completely dry, which greatly facilitates the crossing. However, everything is complicated a little bit. We have to cross an area where we have to walk on big stones and climb a rather slippery stone mound. This is where we will see our first series of small waterfalls. We wade through certain areas of the course. You have to be careful because the rocks are really slippery. We finally arrive at a long and high waterfall that flows into a shallow basin. Alain goes to the foot of the waterfall. He seems so small at his side. And there, I'm not sure it was the way to go to continue the hike. However, he still led us to our destination. So we climbed a wall and a pile of large stones that made us gain a lot of altitude. We knew we were on the right path because when we reached the summit, we saw the waterfall that spilled over several levels along the rocks. We finally reached the path that is on the right bank of the river (when we go to the waterfalls). A restaurant is erected in the heights of the mountain, offering a magnificent view of these waterfalls. The path, rather rocky in some places, leads us to the top of the mountain and allows us to have splendid panoramic views. We saw a little monkey who seemed to be really in pain. He seemed to have suffered a wound over his eye. We crossed the river again and continued our way around it. We arrived at the foot of the beautiful series of waterfalls. After a well-deserved break, we turned back. However, when we reached the restaurant on the mountain, we decided instead to take the steep path to the left of the river when facing the village. We also enjoy excellent views of the waterfalls at different locations on this trail that leads besides near a belvedere which we had a sensational panoramic view of the village. In this sector, there was a fork to the right. After a short hesitation, we decided to take this direction. She led us to a staircase that led us to the path along the river. We followed this path and reached the village quickly and returned to our cottage to have breakfast. I think that by watching this video, you will have a little idea to know if you are in good physical condition to make this hike. If so, you will only have to decide whether you are going with or without a guide. ************************************************** ****************** OTHER VIDEOS: • Maroc SUBSCRIBE ► https://www.youtube.com/c/SouthAngelV...
