Usually, this results in some permanent consequence, or permanent change of opinion. その噂を聞いたきり、そのことで頭がいっぱいだ。 Since I heard those rumours, my mind is full of that. 彼女は運転免許を取ったきり、一度でさえ運転をしていない。 Since she got her driver's license, she hasn't driven even once. 彼は私の本を持って行ったきり、ずっと借りたままだ。 After he took my book, he has been borrowing it for a long time. ２．これ・それ・あれ + きり(After this/ that) これきりもう君と会わなくてもかまわない。 I don't care if I never see you again after this. However, not all verbs can be connected.
