It indicates that although the speaker wishes to act A , he is held back by fear of offending social norms, or by personal reservations. The subject is usually the first person. I have no choice but to go to work tomorrow. / There is no way that I can take a day off from work tomorrow. Though I want to take a day-off, I have no other choice but to work tomorrow due to certain circumstances (Ex. important meeting, someone important is coming, etc.)It shows your strong determination or your will under some unavoidable circumstances. I am not going to eat anything today. There is no way that I’ll eat anything. (I’m determined.) The listener can tell the speaker has some important reason why he/she can’t eat today and is determined not to eat today. This expression is a bit dramatic so you would not use this expression if the reason you won’t eat is simply, “I am not hungry.” It cannot be used to mean that something cannot be done for reason of inability. I can't do that kind of thing because it is against the law. I promised to take N3 seriously, so I can't give up here. “If you don’t want to go drinking, why don’t you say no" 「そういうわけにはいかないよ。 “I can’t say that. It’s an invitation from my boss.” ないform + わけにはいかない must, have no choice but to It means “ I have to do something under certain circumstances / due to some reason you have no choice but do something”. However, where those expressions imply a legal or formal requirement to do something, 「わけにはいかない」 implies more of a sense of moral obligation. For example, if a worker made an error, the manager may well say: I can't very well not get angry. I can't very well let this go. However, the manager would be unlikely to use one of the other expressions, such as 「部下を怒らなければならない」, because that would mean 'I must get angry (according to the rule book).' I cannot help but to give up my seat to the elderly. Unfortunately, I can't help but to throw this picture away because I don't have a place to put it in my house. "Please. Buy this bag!" "I can't help but buy it if I'm told with such a cute face."
