Last Day at Broughton High - Haven, Steak & Scotland

Van Life UK meets supply teacher reality. After 6 months living in my self-converted Mercedes Sprinter Campervan whilst working as a supply teacher, I've just handed in my keys for the last time. For months, I've been doing van life the hard way, working Monday to Friday, sleeping in the campervan to save on commuting, and honestly, it's been brutal. This week, my first stop is at a £33 Haven Holiday Park, which unexpectedly turns out way rougher than advertised. Noisy neighbours, questionable facilities, and the kind of chaos that makes you question every life choice that led you here. To finish the week, I head to The Broughton Inn for a steak dinner, and honestly, it was exactly what I needed. A moment to sit still and realise what the end of this chapter meant. Six months of supply teaching, over 100 nights in the van, battery anxiety, early morning alarms, and the quiet freedom of having everything I need in a green sprinter van. This is the reality of van life in the UK, not the polished version. Teaching by day, campervan by night, and finally, Scotland on the horizon. Join me on my upcoming adventure as I live in my campervan and work at a campsite in the Scottish Highlands - Subscribe for weekly adventures. #vanlife #vanlifeuk #teacher #campervan #offgrid #supplyteacher #vanlifescotland
