皇室お召 E655系なごみ乗車記(前編)

Photo taken on May 13th [History of the Imperial Train①] The E655 series is a joyful train that debuted in 2007 for the Imperial train. Until then, the passenger car formation manufactured in 1932 had been used for 75 years (only the Imperial car for His Majesty was newly built in 1960). The passenger car formation called the No. 1 formation is often towed by the EF58-61 manufactured by Hitachi, and the towing locomotive is usually specially equipped. Locomotives such as EF81-81, DD51-842 and EF64-77 are precious ones that still retain the Imperial equipment. The year after the Nagomi was introduced, damage due to metal fatigue was discovered in the frame of the EF58-61, and it was withdrawn from service, and this year has already been 10 years since then. The No. 1 formation and the EF58-61 are still registered and stored at the Oi factory. Regardless of the EF58, it seems that it is still not impossible to operate the No. 1 train set.
