Cade un bancale, precipita la gru: due feriti gravi in un cantiere a Trivolzio

A very unusual workplace accident resulted in three injuries, two of them in serious condition, on Monday morning in Trivolzio. The incident occurred on a construction site on Via Mazzini, where several townhouses are being built. A crane collapsed after a pallet of interlocking pavers came loose, crushing a man. The injured workers were employed by a company in Casorate Primo, which had been contracted to build a paving driveway in the center of the building. It was their first day at the construction site, and the accident occurred while the material was being moved to the paving site. The pallet of interlocking pavers fell as it was being lowered, crushing one of the workers. The first victim is a 36-year-old man, hospitalized in critical condition at San Matteo Hospital. Not only was he trapped under the load, but he was also struck on the head. As his colleagues attempted to move the interlocking pavers that had crushed the 36-year-old, something very strange happened. According to witnesses, the crane's winch, which initially couldn't be raised, suddenly released. The snapping of the tensioned cable unbalanced the crane, which began to sway dangerously until one of the counterweights came off its base. At that point, the collapse was inevitable. The falling crane grazed a second worker, aged 58, who suffered a deep cut to the throat. He lost a lot of blood and was also hospitalized with critical condition at the Policlinico San Matteo hospital. During the rescue operations, a third worker was injured in the leg. His condition is not worrying. Carabinieri and ATS inspectors arrived on the scene. A lengthy investigation is needed to correctly define such a complex event, which still needs to be confirmed by the military investigation. This morning, a small mystery also arose: the person operating the crane, who is not part of the Casorate Primo company responsible for paving the driveway, left immediately after the accident, perhaps suffering from shock, and was not found on the scene when emergency services arrived. He returned to the scene only a few hours later.
