𝐈𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐮𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐉𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐝𝐠𝐮𝐫𝐮 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐲𝐚 𝐒𝐫𝐢 𝐒𝐫𝐢 𝐁𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢 𝐓𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐰𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐣𝐢 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐩𝐚𝐫 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐚 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟, 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐨𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐲, 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫. One such form of poetry that has been the object of the Jagadguru's interest and has gained historied fame in South India is the art of Avadhana, (a literary feat involving extempore responses to poetic challenges). Many Avadhanas and Shatavadhanas (an Avadhana composed of extempore responses to 100 different poetic challenges) have been arranged in the presence of Jagadguru Sri Mahasannidhanam and Jagadguru Sri Sannidhanam in numerous Vijayayatras across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Sanskrit and Kannada Ashtavadhanas have also taken place in Sringeri in the past. On the occasion of Suvarna Bharati (commemorating the 50th year of Sannyasa Sweekara of Jagadguru Sri Mahasannidhanam), as per the directions of Jagadguru Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Sannidhanam, a Shatavadhana is being organised for the first time in the premises of the Dakshinamnaya Sringeri Sharada Peetham. Organised by the Telugu magazine Darshanam, a young scholar of the Matha, Shatavadhani Gannavaram Lalithadithya, will be performing the Shatavadhana in the divine presence of the Jagadguru. Let all connoiseurs of Telugu & Sanskrit literature utilise this opportunity, witness this literary fest and be the recipients of the blessings of Sri Sharadamba and the Jagadgurus.
