In this video, we share our experience staying in the top-tier guest room (the Presidential Suite) at UMITO Atami Bettei. UMITO operates several small luxury hotels in prime locations offering stunning ocean views. A unique feature is its ownership system, where guests can purchase rooms based on the number of nights they stay per year. For example, it's possible to purchase the right to stay 10 nights per year for 1/36th of the property price. Owners have priority in booking accommodations, but those of us who are not owners can make reservations starting two months prior to their stay. Guests can enjoy truly spectacular, unobstructed views. The room we stayed in was the Presidential Suite (marketed as the "Penthouse"). Located on the hotel's top floor, it offers a spacious interior of 143.20 square meters, complemented by an 85.69-square-meter outdoor area. It is a truly luxurious suite featuring two bedrooms - each with its own open-air hot spring bath - as well as a dry sauna and a private heated pool. As it is marketed as an owner-operated property, the interior decor and furnishings are of the highest quality. UMITO Atami Bettei features a counter dining restaurant with 9 seats overlooking the ocean. Under the supervision of Chef Naoto Kishimoto, who has earned a total of 12 Michelin stars, dinner is authentic French cuisine crafted by Chef Kiyotaka Nakai, while breakfast is a flavorful Japanese breakfast using the bounty of Shizuoka, prepared by Executive Chef Ryuichi Inoue. The basic meal plan includes in-room dining, but for an additional charge, you can enjoy a more lively dining experience at the counter dining restaurant. The staff were incredibly kind and wonderful, and we fully enjoyed the ultimate luxury stay in a superb room featuring a private pool, an open-air hot spring bath, and a breathtaking, magnificent view of the ocean right before our eyes.
