Pompton Valley Rail Trail: after the storm

We hit the Pompton Valley Rail Trail in New Jersey for an early afternoon bike ride, but the day-after-thunderstorm aftermath made for a wild obstacle course! The massive trees knocked down by the storm gave us a completely different, adventurous vibe. The Ride Breakdown Trail: Pompton Valley Rail Trail (Wayne to Pompton Plains, NJ) Distance: 5.1 miles (10.2 miles round trip) Conditions: 99% paved, mostly flat—but with a few major storm-downed trees to navigate! Info & Tips Start/End: Begin near Mountain View Train Station in Wayne. Accessibility: Usually a super smooth, 10-foot-wide paved path for all skill levels... just pack your patience after heavy weather!
