Bosnia - Serb Shells Hit Norwegian UN Base

(10 Oct 1995) T/I: 10:46:09 Norwegian soldiers serving with the UN Protection Force at the airport in the north Bosnian town of Tuzla, on Tuesday (10/10) were assessing the damage to their base caused by Serb shelling. According to Deputy Force Commander Hans Karssing, the base received two direct hits just after lunch on Monday. One shell landed next to the canteen and another close to his office. The fragments of one shell hit a UN vehicle killing one UN soldier. The soldier sitting next to him was uninjured. SHOWS: TUZLA, BOSNIA, 10/10 Pan of base, showing parked vehicles. Strange, but everybody was happy to hear that his co-driver was not killed at all.
