We have to stop encouraging one another to buy things we cant afford, to impress people we don't even know or like. You're not in your 'rich girl era' if you're having to put that Chanel handbag on your credit card. Buying a Louis Vuitton purse and taking out a loan to do so - is not success. And in actual fact, these obnoxiously labelled 'luxury fashion' items arent even really aimed at real rich people. New studies suggest that its the low to medium income earners that are purchasing these brands - not because they're well made or use quality materials, but for the social approval that comes with owning a luxury item. Then you've got the seedy underworld of counterfeit designer fashion. This section almost deserves a whole video of its own as it is such a mind blowing topic - but in a nutshell. Please don't buy or support fake luxury fashion. It's not good for you, your wallet, your health or the workers who create such items. Instead, learn about personal finance. The stock market. ETFs. Property portfolios. High interest savings accounts even. Do things that can actually lead to real worth down the track, rather than just the illusion of wealth.
