Meanwhile, Hotman Paris Hutapea, the attorney for former Jampidsus (special crime director) Febrie Adriansyah, questioned why investigators had not yet named businessman Tan Kian as a suspect, despite being named as the alleged briber in the case implicating his client. According to Hotman, if investigators believed Tan Kian was the bribe giver, his legal status should also be upgraded to a suspect. Responding to the suspect status of former Jampidsus Febrie, the Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police emphasized that the determination was based on two strong and accountable pieces of evidence. Despite undergoing questioning at the Attorney General's Office, former Special Crimes Crimes Supervisor Febrie has not been detained. This decision, according to Yenti Garnasih, a money laundering expert, is a violation of the law by state officials. Yenti also emphasized that the Attorney General's Office is currently handling a war against corruption, not a matter of inter-agency solidarity.
