JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV - Don Ritto, a corruption suspect in a case implicating the former Jampidsus (Special Crimes Supervisory Agency), has repeatedly admitted through his attorney that hundreds of billions of rupiah and 74 kilograms of gold seized by investigators during a search in Sentul are his. Don Ritto's attorney, Handika Honggowongso, made this clear after his client underwent his first questioning at the Attorney General's Office yesterday. Don Ritto stated that he had asked Febrie for permission to build a safe to store foreign currency and gold. Previously, during the search, police investigators also found and confiscated family photos of former Jampidsus official Febrie Adriansyah from his home in Sentul. Febrie also admitted that the house in Sentul was his personal residence. However, yesterday, after undergoing questioning, Febrie, through his attorney, Hotman Paris, stated that the house was a gift from his in-laws to his son. PUKAT UGM researcher, Zaenur Rohman, stated that Attorney General's Office investigators must investigate the flow of money claimed to belong to suspect Don Ritto, used for the foundation's purposes. This flow of money must be proven to be related to money laundering. AGO investigators have now received all the evidence, including money and gold, from searches related to the alleged corruption case implicating one of the former Jampidsus officials, Febrie Adriansyah. After the new sprindik (investigation letter), the legal process that has named this former Jampidsus suspect must be proven in court. The mystery of the safe containing hundreds of billions of rupiah in Sentul has now shifted entirely to suspect Don Ritto, after he admitted that all the evidence in Sentul belonged to him. Meanwhile, the attorney for former Jampidsus official Febrie questions his client's status as a suspect, even though the briber has not yet been arrested.
