Keighley & Worth Valley Railway | 'Spring Steam Gala' 11th - 13th March 2022

It's back! The much anticipated return of what is personally one of my favourite Steam Gala's, the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway's held their 'Spring Steam Gala' over the weekend of the 11th - 13th of March. With what was almost a mirror image of their 50th Anniversary Gala from 4 years ago, seven locos were in action on a range of passenger and freight services over the 5 mile branch line. 46100 'Royal Scot' from Crewe LSL and Pannier Tank 7714 from the Severn Valley Railway, brought the crowds in for an excellent weekend of Steam. The lines resident L&Y 'Ironclad' 0-6-0 52044 also headlined the event, having been recently turned out in BR Black following its overhaul completion late last year. 0:00 Friday 11th March 14:00 Saturday 12th March 21:17 Sunday 13th March The superb event had so much to offer as always. From double headed Express passengers, to goods trains utilising the lines small goods yards. Paired with the patches of stunning sunshine, it really was the enthusiast's weekend to enjoy.
