In this video, I show a special birdwatching experience in the Pantanal during the height of the flood season. During this expedition, I visited a farm on the Pantanal plain at a time when the waters take over the landscape: flooded roads, pastures transformed into large flooded areas, and an impressive view from above. The flood season is one of the most striking natural phenomena in the Pantanal. It is precisely during this period that many aquatic birds find ideal conditions to feed and concentrate in the flooded areas. Throughout this birdwatching trip, I encountered several species typical of this environment, such as jabirus, wood storks, southern screamers, herons, cormorants, and many other Pantanal birds. In addition to birdwatching, this video also shows some of the beauty of the Pantanal landscape during the peak of the flood, with aerial images revealing the immensity of water that completely transforms the environment. Flooding is part of the natural cycle of the Pantanal and is fundamental to maintaining the richness of life in what is one of the most extraordinary ecosystems on the planet.
