Rodrigue Petitot, 42, is a charismatic figure in the mobilization against the high cost of living in Martinique, particularly with his powerful social media posts and his regular presence at blockades and demonstrations. Recognizable by his commanding voice and neck tattoo, he embodies the fight for fairer prices, denouncing the abuses of large-scale retailers. With his slogan "We are at home here," he has united activists of the Rally for the Protection of Afro-Caribbean Peoples and Resources (RPPRAC), of which he is president. Having divided his time between Martinique and mainland France, Petitot has become the spokesperson for a segment of the Martinican population frustrated by inflation and economic inequality. For his supporters, like Joe, a protester outside the Territorial Collectivity of Martinique (CTM), Rodrigue Petitot represents "the people" and embodies the "suffering" of residents facing the challenges of daily life. As negotiations to lower food prices continue, Petitot and his supporters hope to achieve concrete changes. New roadblocks have been erected on the island of Martinique as negotiations continue. These negotiations aim to freeze or even lower prices on thousands of everyday products in order to reduce the extremely significant gap in the cost of living between Martinique and mainland France. The Minister of Overseas Territories has still not arrived on the island, a fact that is criticized in particular by members of the RPPRAC (Republic of Martinique). #Martinique #RPPRAC #viechere #protests @RPPRAC #News #Information #CLPRESS 📲 More news images from the field: ▶️ Twitter: / clpressfr ▶️ Facebook: / clementlanot ▶️ YouTube: / clpress ▶️ TikTok: / clpress ▶️ Instagram: / clpress ▶️ Website: https://clpress.fr/ ▶️ Email: [email protected] Follow Clément Lanot ▶️ Twitter: / clementlanot ▶️ Clément Lanot YouTube: / clementlanot ▶️ TikTok: / clementlanot ▶️ Instagram: / clementlanot ALL COMMERCIAL OR NON-COMMERCIAL USES ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED WITHOUT PERMISSION.
