On Day 157 of our journey, the theme is the glory that passes and the glory that remains. The Queen of Sheba is speechless before Solomon's opulence, but God had already warned him that all of that was fragile. A psalm reveals to whom God grants true victory, Paul reminds us that our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and the Catechism announces the new heaven and the new earth, where God will wipe away every tear. A day to exchange what dazzles and passes for what remains forever. 📖 Today's Readings: 📘 Old Testament — 1 Kings 9–10 God appears to Solomon for the second time, promising to establish his throne if he is faithful, but warning that unfaithfulness would bring ruin. The Queen of Sheba visits him, tests his wisdom with riddles and is astonished, confessing that "they didn't tell her even half of it." The reign reaches the height of wealth, with gold, ivory, and unparalleled splendor. 📜 Psalms — Psalm 149 A new song of praise and triumph. The people are invited to celebrate God with songs, dances, and instruments, because the Lord loves his people. The great revelation of the psalm is that God gives the humble the honor of victory, exalting those who trust in him instead of the proud. ✝️ New Testament — 1 Corinthians 6 Paul rebukes Christians for taking their disputes to pagan courts, asking why they do not prefer to suffer injustice. Then he teaches about the dignity of the body: it is not for impurity, but for the Lord. Our bodies are members of Christ and temples of the Holy Spirit, for we were bought at a price. 📚 Catechism — Paragraphs 1042–1050 The hope of the new heavens and the new earth. After the Final Judgment, God will renew the entire universe and dwell among men in the heavenly Jerusalem. There He will wipe away every tear, and there will be no more death, mourning, crying, or pain.
