Thickening and Forming Case Rims
In my last video, I showed it was possible to increase the thickness of a rimmed case's rim. • Increasing the Thickness of a Rimmed Case This would be useful when converting modern cartridges to a variety of old black powder cartridges. In this video, I address some things that were left off in the previous video. First, I make a stop for the lathe that serves to accurately position the cases, as well as hopefully reduce the stresses on the lathe itself during the rim thickening process. Next, I experiment to see if forming the rims down to diameter is better than cutting. And finally I make a cutter in order to form the A base for 11mm Mauser.
