We travel by traditional Jolloro boat along the Salo Pute (Puteh River), weaving through dense Nypa Palm forests and ancient Karst Mountains. This is the primary waterway used by the local community to reach the hidden village of Rammang-Rammang. Rammang-Rammang is located in the second-largest karst landscape in the world. Located in South Sulawesi, near Makassar, this UNESCO site is a labyrinth of limestone towers and ancient river ways. You can easily hire a driver for the day or rent a scooter. It’s often paired with a visit to the nearby Leang Leang Archaeological Park.
