I Investigated Why Nigerians Are Taking Over London’s “Worst Area”

If you've ever heard of Barking, chances are it wasn't for a good reason. Crime headlines, deprivation statistics, social media callouts, it's a place most people write off without a second thought. But hidden inside one of London's most dismissed boroughs is something nobody talks about - one of East London's fastest-growing Nigerian and African communities. A community that didn't wait to be discovered. They just built something anyway. In this video, I spent a day walking Barking - from the market stalls and suya spots to the ruins of a medieval abbey, all the way to a brand new riverside development that is quietly transforming the entire area. I spoke to a business owner, residents, and people who chose this place when the rest of London looked the other way. What I found was not what the headlines prepared me for.
