Why Fiber Prep Matters to Get the Yarn You Want (Learn from My Mistakes)

I dove head first into spinning up a dense merino combed top with the audacity of someone who truly believed I could make it do something it didn't want to do. My first singles spun up much denser, and thicker, than I wanted, and I thought I could fix it. Maybe I could have, but I dusted off my sleeves and raided my stash to restart and do it all again... correctly. By making rolags from the combed top and trying again, I was able to meet my grist and wraps per inch targets for my sweater project. If you want to learn from my mistakes, commiserate, or just laugh with me, I hope you'll join along. Let me know if you have any fiber arts related techniques, projects, or tools you'd like me to feature in an upcoming video!
