Some of them seamlessly integrated into existing ecosystems in their new locations, while others, on the contrary, caused genuine ecological crises. Most of these events went unnoticed, occurring in the forest litter or deep in bodies of water. The situation with insects is quite different. Among them are many species that feed on the same plants as humans and carry deadly diseases. Why do some species cause ecological and economic disasters when they spread to new regions, while the arrival of others is noticed only by researchers? Does the geography of the diseases they carry change with them? Can insects colonize new territories without human intervention? Let's try to figure this out.
