February 2026: Transit News Recap [Fleet Status]

Hello everyone, welcome to Next Stop News! This is February 2026’s MTA NYCT and MTA Bus Fleet Status Recap, a continuation from where I left off for the January 2026 Recap. Unedited Description [for 1/2026]: February was an active month for bus developments, continuing from the momentum initiated last month, mainly concerning the delivery of 2025 Prevost X3-45s and New Flyer XD60s. The 260 Base Order Prevosts [1761-2020] continued to arrive to the MTA in a fast-tracked manner. The first depot to receive them was College Point, which got 1 more unit (1785) this month, bringing them up to 25 Prevosts. Meanwhile, Eastchester got 22 new Prevosts and Yonkers got 4 Prevosts. 180 MCI D4500CLs were left by this month's end. In this video, we also discuss the delivery of three more 2025-2026 New Flyer Xcelsior XD60 articulated buses to Gun Hill, bringing them up to 25 XD60s. As a result, they retired seven more 2010 Nova LFSAs, bringing the retired 2010 Nova LFSA count to 26 units. West Farms got their first few 2025-26 XD60s as well, those being 6336 and 6343-6345. We talk about the shifting of the remaining Nova LFSe+s from Charleston to Kingsbridge, which caused all five units (5025-5029) to be based out of The Bronx. Ulmer Park retired five more of their 2012 Prevosts, putting them at 20 units retired, and 45 units active. Lastly, we discuss the retirement of the MetroCard RTSs, wrapped buses, loans, MCI retirements, and unique snow loans given to various MaBSTOA depots during the blizzard which occurred on 2/23/26, which I now refer to as The Great Blizzard of 2026. •Info on the 2025 Prevosts: https://www.volvobuses.com/en/news-st... https://prevostcar.com/news/historic-...
