On May 26, 2021, Venerable Deci of Jing Si Abode passed away peacefully at the age of 87. As the first disciple of Master Cheng Yen, Venerable Deci accompanied the Master for nearly 60 years, leaving a profound mark on her life, from self-reliance through manual labor during difficult times to documenting the early history of Tzu Chi. A humble and reserved man, he always said, "I'll do whatever needs to be done," setting an example for the Jing Si Abode's traditions.
