The Union Cabinet approved two landmark projects in Amaravati, the new capital of Andhra Pradesh, designed for the 21st century with a square grid layout, planned sectors, and modern infrastructure. 1. Central Government Office Complex • Campus: 5.5 acres • Built-up area: 2.3 million sq ft (two blocks) • Cost: ₹1,299 crore 2. Central Government Residential Complex • Campus: 17 acres • 1,500 residential quarters • Cost: ₹1,234 crore Together, these projects form part of one integrated master plan, offices on one side, housing on the other, connected by a wide access road. Future additions will include the High Court and other key institutions.
