Anaesthesiology department, GMC Srinagar Organizes CME-cum-Workshop on “Palliative Care”
The Department of Anaesthesiology, Critical Care, Pain & Palliative Medicine, Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar, in collaboration with the Indian Association of Palliative Care, organized a one-day CME-cum-Workshop titled “Palliative Care Update” at the GMC Auditorium on 15th November 2025. Held under the theme “From Planning to Access: Ensuring Equitable Palliative Care for the Community,” the programme focused on strengthening palliative care services at the grassroots level and integrating compassionate, patient-centered care into routine clinical practice. The scientific sessions covered a wide range of themes, including Principles and Practice of Palliative Care, Ethical and Legal Aspects, Multidisciplinary Integration, Community Outreach, and a dedicated Workshop on Communication Skills. Faculty members, residents, and healthcare professionals from various departments participated actively. The event emphasized improved accessibility, effective planning, and the need for equitable palliative care services for the community.
