Green Gully
Green Gully. One of the classic original grade IV gully ice climbs on Ben Nevis. Often fairly easy for the grade, but in thin conditions it can be close to the grade. The right-hand finish is often guarded by a large cornice. Straight up is better, but steeper on good ice. A left-hand finish is also possible, but rarely used. Mostly good belays on rock all the way, using nuts. A very steep grade I snow slope approach to the start. Ice screw belay to the right of the first pitch start. A great route!
