A era do fumo em Botuverá: o auge, o declínio e as estufas que ainda resistem

The tobacco drying sheds still scattered throughout the interior of Botuverá hold the memory of a period that transformed the municipality. Introduced in the 1950s, tobacco farming boosted the local economy, supported families, and marked the rural landscape. Today, many drying sheds are abandoned or have already disappeared, but they remain as a symbol of an era remembered for the intense work and the impact of the smoke on the history of Botuverá. This video is part of the special Botuverá: Heritage of Time, a five-episode series about the historical buildings that resist time and preserve the memory of the city.
