Having an operation at Sheffield Children's Hospital (with Makaton narration)
Chris uses Makaton and Widgit symbols to show us what happens when Rory goes for an operation. This film shows that children and young people at Sheffield Children's are cared for with a flexible approach. For instance, all patients need a name band so that the doctors and nurses can check their identification. To avoid distress, Rory's dinosaur was allowed to wear his identification band while his mum was present. Rory's own band was applied when he was asleep.
