Blick hinter die Kulissen: So funktionieren Kinder-OPs im Ambulanten OP-Zentrum des UKSH in Kiel

How do children experience surgery? How can parents support their children, and how does outpatient surgery work? In our video, we show little Ida's experience with ear surgery at the UKSH Outpatient Surgery Center (AOZ) on the Kiel campus, giving parents and children a glimpse behind the scenes. At our AOZ on the Kiel campus, even our youngest patients receive loving care and surgery. Highly qualified doctors work here, contributing their expertise and experience to ensure the best possible treatment outcome. In addition, compassionate colleagues from the anesthesiology and surgical nursing departments look after the patients' well-being on this special day. The great advantage of the AOZ: Just like adults, even the youngest patients can arrive relaxed in the morning, have their surgery shortly afterward, and can usually go home in the afternoon. The familiar surroundings of their own home provide the ideal environment for recovery. Often present: Our hospital clown, Dr. med. Sausage, which provides a distraction and some magical moments.
