LYNX — Sweden's Threatened Eurasian Lynx | International Lynx Day 2026

The Swedish lynx is threatened — redlisted as Vulnerable. Yet over the past ten years, more than 1,000 individuals have been lost to legal hunting. This film is a quiet tribute to an animal that belongs in our forests, and a reminder that threatened species should not be hunted. Facts you should know: — Sweden allows trophy hunting of a redlisted, protected species. Foreign hunters travel to Sweden specifically to hunt lynx, a matter exposed in the book Jägarnas Rike (Hunters’ Kingdom, 2026). — In 2025, the Artkrisen Foundation filed a formal complaint with the European Commission, arguing that Swedish lynx hunting violates the EU Habitats Directive. The Artkrisen Foundation supports projects that protect redlisted species and promote coexistence with large predators. We are entirely volunteer-run, and determined to find a way to coexist. If this film moved you, share it and subscribe to follow our work for Sweden's redlisted species. ♫ Music by Ehsan Kalantarpour (the man behind Atoma and Slumber) 🎬 Produced by Misha Istratov, chairman of Artkrisen Foundation ‪@MishaIstratov‬ Footage licensed via Storyblocks Learn more / support our work: 🌐 www.artkrisen.se 📷 Instagram: @artkrisen 📘 Facebook: @Artkrisen 💛 Swish: 123 250 65 66 #InternationalLynxDay #Lynx #Lodjur #Sweden #Eurasianlynx #Coexistence #EndangeredSpecies #atoma # slumber #wildlife #BigCats #Conservation #Rewilding #Artkrisen
