It has a spheroidal shape, sometimes slightly flattened at the poles, variable dimensions and sometimes unexpectedly large, blond and soft flesh, not always seeded, a rich and generally bitter flavor. It's the most famous citrus fruit in the world. We're talking about the tangerine, the fruit of the tangerine tree. In Italy, 19 varieties are grown. In this episode of "๐๐น ๐๐๐๐๐ผ ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐น๐น๐ฎ ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐น๐๐๐ฒ" we'll be spotlighting the Tursi Straccia Orange, a cultivar typical of the Lucanian area between the Sinni and Agri rivers in the province of Matera. It's a late-ripening variety that can remain on the tree until summer, protected by a dedicated Consortium. Its name comes from an ancient game, a distant relative of bocce, played by children a few decades ago. For entertainment, they used "๐๐๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ฒ," flat, smooth stones that they threw from a distance into playing rectangles drawn on the ground with improvised chalk. Nothing of this particular
