The Silver Mirror is another of Conan Doyle's historical short stories, or Tales of Long Ago. This story contrasts with the majority of the other episodes due to its supernatural elements. This tale was first published in 1908 and therefore one of the earlier works destined for his 1911 collection 'The Last Galley: Impressions and Tales'. A very interesting podcast called Doings of Doyle has devoted its latest episode to a discussion of 'The Silver Mirror'. Very interesting for anyone wanting a little more context.
