The Lord of Chateau Noir by Arthur Conan Doyle
Another one of Doyle's atmospheric, although not strictly supernatural stories. It is set in France at the time of the Franco Prussian war and the Germans are beset by hostile locals, and in particular, the Count of the Chateau Noir near Les Andelys. It is read as per usual by Greg Wagland. The work was written by Arthur Conan Doyle. The artwork was painted in the 19th century, by, I think, Jeanniot. These two creations are in the public domain. The video and recording are copyright 2019 to Magpie Audio (Greg Wagland).
