The Volta Men's Boarding House is home to 55 men in difficult circumstances. "Happy Day" redesigned the common areas in 2024 – brighter, friendlier, and more inviting. Kiki Maeder and Andrin Schweizer are visiting the boarding house again and showing how community life has changed. The Volta Men's Boarding House is home to 55 men struggling with difficult living conditions. Here, they find not only affordable accommodation, but also community and exchange in the common areas. The boarding house managers, Alex and Norbert, wanted to make these spaces friendlier, brighter, and more inviting to give the residents a sense of security. In 2024, Kiki Maeder and Andrin Schweizer took up this challenge and campaigned for a redesign of the boarding house. Now they are returning to see how the rooms renovated by "Happy Day" are being used and what impact the changes are having on community life. Kiki Maeder and Andrin Schweizer are constantly working for "Happy Day" to help families where they need it most – within their own homes. When strokes of fate such as illness, the loss of a loved one, or other difficult events derail lives, the renovation team steps in and, with heartfelt enthusiasm, offers a fresh start. In the SRF summer program, the two look back on particularly touching stories in four special episodes of "Thank You Happy Day – Renovation Special" and visit families whose lives have been permanently changed by the renovation.
