Canceling the contract would cost 4,200 Swiss francs. Salt salespeople didn't even spare a man with dementia: Despite his existing cell phone and subscription, they tricked him into signing contracts for four more cell phones, each with its own subscription. The ombudsman intervened. Is this a systemic problem at Salt? A study by Pro Senectute reveals that one in five people over 85 in Switzerland has been a victim of financial fraud at least once in the last five years. The total amount of damage caused by financial abuse of older people is estimated at 3.3 billion Swiss francs.
