Gina and Rip: Episode Two, Teaching the New Handler to Work a Herding Dog
My daughter-in-law Gina does a lot of open range cattle work on the high desert. She has been in need of a good cattle dog to help. Gina is new to Stock dog handling and has just adopted a new Border Collie/Kelpie X puppy. Follow along with my series of videos of Gina and her puppy Rip as I teach Gina how to become an accomplished Stock dog handler and trainer. Also watch Rip the puppy’s training and advancement as a trained herding dog. Gina has set a goal to take Rip on her first cattle drive next April when She will be just 11 months old.
