PRINCE: MPLSound (2009)

💿 MPLSound - My Top 5 An album poised between reflection and new beginnings. And five songs that resonate with me quite differently today than they did back in 2009. With MPLSound, we continue our journey through Prince's discography – chronologically from back to front. The album was originally released as a triple release with Lotusflow3r and Bria Valente's Elixer, and its title alone promised a return to the electronic Minneapolis sound. But does this return to his roots truly work? For my personal Top 5, I've been listening to the album intensively again over the past few weeks. I've reaffirmed old favorites, rediscovered long-overlooked tracks – and realized that one song now holds a significance it couldn't possibly have had back in 2009. We're talking about the private Prince, dreamlike soundscapes, a serious keyboard overload, the pissed-off Prince – and, of course, whether "Ol' Skool" might ultimately be missing a bit of the "Company." You can see which five songs made my list in the new video. And now I'm curious: Which songs belong in your personal MPLSound Top 5? #Prince #MPLSound #MinneapolisSound #MyTop5 #Lotusflow3r #PrinceVault #PrinceFans #MusicReview
