CELEBRATING PRINCE: Immer neu, ewig Prince (Die andere Seite 1/2)

🎙 Always New, Eternal Prince – The Other Side (Part 1/2) Today marks the beginning of the final chapter of our journey through Prince's story. While Martina and I are currently experiencing the last day of the Celebration in Minneapolis, we're taking another look at "the other side" of a period that felt almost like a new beginning at the time. The years surrounding 3rdEyeGirl. Spontaneous club gigs. Songs that appeared online in the middle of the night. Streams from Paisley Park. Rehearsals where you suddenly felt like you were listening to a band being formed. We start with "That Girl Thang," a song that was supposedly recorded just hours before its release. Then we move on to "What If" and "Live Out Loud," culminating in the album PlectrumElectrum – an album that, in my opinion, remains underrated to this day. With "Something In The Water," "Boomstratus," and "Empty Room," we then take a look at the many rehearsal recordings and spontaneous releases of this period. Music that often felt as if Prince were inviting fans directly to Paisley Park. And finally, the stage opens again: with the newly formed NPG, the legendary 3rdEyeGirl TV streams, and a version of "Extraloveable" that already hints at where things were headed. The finale is "Screwdriver"—live from the Paradiso in Amsterdam. The very same venue where Prince performed during his first European tour in 1981. For me, it was an incredibly exciting time. Perhaps even the last great era in which, as a fan, you truly felt that something new could happen at any moment. 👍 If you enjoyed the video, please give it a like 🔔 and subscribe to the channel for the final part of the series Have a wonderful Sunday!
