The China You Never See — A Road Through the Misty Qinling Mountains | 4K Scenic Drive

This drive takes us deep into the Qinling Mountains of Shaanxi, starting from Erlangba Village in Taibai County, Baoji, and following Taiyang Road south toward Tianxing Village in Yang County, Hanzhong. This is not a polished tourist road or a heavily designed scenic area. It feels much closer to the raw mountain landscape of the Qinling range: narrow bends, forested slopes, quiet villages, river valleys, cliffside sections, and layers of distant ridges fading into mountain mist. The mist in this video is mainly visible across the far mountains and valleys, while the road ahead remains normally visible. Taiyang Road is a lesser-known mountain route connecting Taibai and Yang County through the heart of the Qinling Mountains. Along the wider corridor are places such as Huangbaiyuan, Erlangba, the Xushui River valley, and Huayang Ancient Town. The Qinling Mountains are often seen as one of China’s great natural dividing lines between north and south, shaping climate, watersheds, vegetation, wildlife, and regional culture. Historically, this region is also connected with the old Tangluo Road, an ancient route across the Qinling Mountains linking the Guanzhong Plain with Hanzhong. This 19-kilometer section from Erlangba to Tianxing Village is short, but it captures a quieter side of China that many travelers never see: wet mountain air, untouched forest, rural mountain bends, distant misty ridgelines, and a slow, immersive road journey through one of China’s most important mountain ranges.
