Romanian Folkdances (Béla Bartok) performed by Rippeth Edwards flute and guitar duo

These tunes originally came from Transylvania. Between 1909 and 1914, Bartok travelled around local villages with a phonograph machine and recorded local farmers, shepherds and folk musicians on wax cylinders. They would usually have been performed on the fiddle with accompanying instruments especially guitar or other plucked instruments. This arrangement by Arthur Levering is recorded live at Frenchay Church, Bristol .
