The best part of the video is experimenting with the Whale. I test how deep it dives, how much power it needs, whether I can ride it, whether it can pull me underwater, and whether attaching it to my ship can turn the ship into a submarine. The answer is: not exactly, but it definitely breaks the game in the funniest way possible. I end up creating a whale-riding ship and discovering one of the funniest ways to break the whale in The Last Caretaker. In this The Last Caretaker New Horizons update video, I continue the new update questline, sail toward the Eden platform, build the first Eden frame, and run into the beautiful systematic chaos that only this game can create. I also talk about the lag and stuttering problems I had with my old save file, especially around Lazarus, and how moving away, saving, and reloading helped reduce the FPS problem. This update adds a lot of new things to explore, including the Eden platform objective, stainless steel crafting, oil requirements, increased level cap, new tools, new building parts, and the mysterious Project Jonah questline. The big focus of this video becomes finding out how the Veil works, how to wake it up, how it gathers oil from the seabed, and how much chaos can happen when you start attaching things to it. I go through Platform Omega, find the Jonah control chamber, discover that the system needs a grown human authorization signal, then return to Lazarus to prepare a human for the Veil process. After that, things become pure Last Caretaker madness: helicopter balance problems, pod transport issues, water and power line problems, strange physics, FPS concerns, and finally the moment where the Veil wakes up and starts harvesting oil.
