1970年代高雄港都舊時光（民國59～68年）｜老照片動起來

This video takes you back to Kaohsiung in the 1970s — a harbor city undergoing rapid growth and transformation. Ports, shopping districts, and busy streets intertwined, and between industrial development and everyday street life, Kaohsiung revealed the unique rhythm of a southern Taiwanese city. Back then in Kaohsiung, Yancheng District and the city center were always bustling with people. Around Xingxing Market, Nanhua Road, and Xinle Street, shops, street vendors, and markets gathered together, forming the city’s most authentic daily scenery. Street-side fruit stalls, snack shops beneath arcades, and the iconic red public telephones all became familiar sights of that era. From Binhai 1st Road to the harbor-side neighborhoods, hotels, trading companies, and fishing-related industries lined the streets. The Kaohsiung Fishermen’s Association and the crowded docks recorded a way of life deeply connected to the sea. Motorcycles and pedestrians crossed paths along the streets, giving the entire city its vibrant energy and rhythm. In 1970s Kaohsiung, neon lights began illuminating the nights. Zhongshan Road, Wufu Bridge, and lively intersections became popular gathering and shopping spots. Kaohsiung Railway Station, the Fengshan Bus Station, and transportation development also symbolized the city’s gradual march toward modernization. On the other side of the city, the scenery of Chengcing Lake and the Nine-Turn Bridge offered moments of calm amid the busy urban life. Students, families, and young people together formed the shared memories of that generation. Kaohsiung’s religious culture was also deeply woven into daily life. Activities at Weiling Temple and local temples, along with ceremonies at Baozhong Yimin Temple, allowed people to preserve strong local traditions and warmth even within the bustling city. Through AI restoration, colorization, and animation technology, these precious old photographs have come to life once again — the neon lights on the streets, the sea breeze by the harbor, the crowds in the markets, and the city’s shifting light and shadows all flow once more across the screen. This is not just the story of Kaohsiung’s cityscape, but also a collective memory of the harbor city.
