With a degree in philosophy, he has been president of institutes specializing in social research and marketing since 1980. He is currently president of AstraRicerche (social and marketing research, scenarios, and consulting), a sociologist, and a professional journalist. Until 2008, he was national president of TP (Italian Advertising Association), the organization representing communications professionals since 1945. He has gained significant experience in various fields: university teaching, direction of research institutes (Agnelli Foundation, Society of Political Studies, InterMatrix), management (marketing director of the Rizzoli-Corriere della Sera Group), and journalism (Il Sole24ORE, L'Espresso). He is the author of essays and studies on sociology, marketing, and contemporary history: the most recent are "Come siamo felici" (Sperling & Kupfer, 2008), an analysis of the "Italian way to happiness," the volume on "The social history of consumption in Italy from 1951 to 2011" (Edizioni Compass), and "Felici malgrado" (eComunicare, October 2012). Enrico Finzi is one of the leading Italian social researchers. Since 1980, he has led specialized institutes focused on social and marketing analysis. Enrico Finzi is the head of AstraRicerche (social, marketing, scenarios, and consultancy analysis), a sociologist, and a professional journalist. Until 2008, he was national president of TP (Italian Advertisers' Association), which has represented those who work professionally in communications since 1945. His careers spans across several fields of interest: university professor, leader of research institutes (Fondazione Agnelli, Società di Studi Politici, InterMatrix), management (marketing director of Gruppo Rizzoli-Corriere della Sera) and journalism (Il Sole24ORE, L'Espresso). He wrote essays and studies on sociology, marketing and contemporary history: the most recent ones are "Come we are happy" ("The way we are happy") (Sperling & Kupfer - 2008), which is an analysis of the "Italian way to happiness", the book on 'The social history of consumptions in Italy from 1951 to 2011' (Compass Editions) and "Felici malgrado" ("Happy despite") (eComunicare, October 2012). He holds a graduation in philosophy. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
