The Southwest Tour 2026 - Destination Spain or Portugal. MUD BATTLE: Wow, the wheel diameter seems to increase as we drive, just as the clearance in the wheel wells shrinks! We'll get to that later...er, write about it. First, from Soria, we drove through the fog over the Puerte de Oncala, with clearly visible remnants of the previous night's heavy rain. In the first village north of the pass, Emmy wasn't the only one surprised by the green beast. Down the valley, the Sierra Cebollera offered a magnificent landscape, dotted with sparsely populated or completely deserted villages like La Esqugilla. The Cidacos Valley is absolutely stunning. The stretch from Soria to Autol is highly recommended. Then, our attempt to reach the Balcón de Pilatos and admire the Bardenas Reales ended in a 20-meter-long puddle. Since the path was already muddy and soft, we decided not to risk it...common sense prevailed. ... Today's destination, Agüero, is a welcome consolation prize.
